In the Darkness of Night: A Love Poem

In the darkness of the night, I sit alone

My heart heavy, my soul feeling so prone

For I have loved a woman so true

Yet fate has led us to bid adieu,

She was my sunshine, my guiding light

She made everything feel just right

But now she’s gone, and I’m left to cry

Asking the stars, the reason why,

The memories we shared, oh so sweet

The moments we had, I’ll always keep

But now they seem like a distant dream

A fleeting vision, or so it seems,

I remember the way she used to smile

And how her laughter would go on for a mile

Her eyes, so bright, they lit up my day

But now she’s gone, and I’m left to pray,

Pray that one day, she’ll come back to me

And that we can be together, happy and free

For I know in my heart, she’s the one for me

And without her, my life is just a mockery,

I’ll wait for her, as long as it takes

Through the storm, through the heartaches

For true love never fades away

It’s a flame that burns, night and day,

And so I’ll write this poem, a tribute to her

A testament to our love, so pure

For even though we’re apart, my love will never die

And one day, she’ll be back in my arms, by and by.

I’ll hold her close, and never let go

And tell her how much I love her so

We’ll dance in the moonlight, under the stars

And forget all the pain, the hurt and the scars,

We’ll make new memories, ones that will last

Ones that will remind us of our past

Of the love we shared, of the bond we had

Of the times we laughed, of the times we were sad,

And so I wait, with hope in my heart

That one day, we’ll never be apart

For true love is worth fighting for

And I’ll fight till the end, and so much more,

And when she returns, I’ll be waiting there

With open arms, and love to spare

We’ll start anew, with a fresh start

And never let anything tear us apart,

For our love is a bond that can’t be broken

It’s a love that’s meant to be, unspoken

And I’ll love her till the end of time

Till the last beat of my heart, till the last chime,

So though I sit here, alone in the night

I know that one day, everything will be right

For our love will conquer all, and shine so bright

And we’ll be together, forever, in pure delight.
